Hamilton Street · 2026

We opened in 2026 and never slowed down.

A single Yaletown counter, then a route, then a cart. The year on every door, bag, and invoice is 2026.

The Hamilton Street unit

Suite 210 at 1066 Hamilton Street opened in 2026 as a specialty bar built for weekday speed. The lease sits in Yaletown, six minutes from the Canada Line at Yaletown–Roundhouse, with a loading zone on Helmcken for the Tuesday bags. The first brief was short: one house blend, one rotating filter, a pastry case that turns by 14:00, and a pickup shelf that does not jam the till queue.

Keeping a single espresso blend was an operations call. Two origin countries, one flavour target, one 19 g dose, one 26-second shot. The filter lot changes every two weeks so the brew bar still has news without forcing a second espresso grinder. Decaf took the second hopper from week one so a decaf latte never parked the caffeinated line.

The first office account was in the same building. That floor ordered 340 g bags, then asked for a weekly drop, then asked for a grind that matched their machine. The route started as a trolley ride and a paper card. By the third month of 2026 the trolley had a van, a Tuesday and Thursday map, and 42 floors on the sheet.

The second espresso machine arrived when the ninety-second drinks started stacking at 08:15. Two group heads, two grinders, one queue. Throughput at the bar now sits near 600 cups a day. The same roast programme now moves about 180 kg of beans a month across Metro Vancouver. Carts filled the Fridays the route does not run.

Beans are roasted weekly in East Vancouver and rest 72 hours before they hit the hopper or a labelled bag. The house blend stays Colombian and Brazilian. The filter lot is whatever we can hold for fourteen days without stretching the rest window. Retail bags print the roast date. Opened bags follow the refund rule tied to that date.

Milk comes from a Fraser Valley dairy on a weekday drop that lands before the 06:45 open. Oat is the default alternative because it is the ticket we see most. Soy and lactose-free sit in the same well. Alternative upcharges stay at $0.75 so the till does not negotiate per drink.

Water, dose, rest

Bar water is filtered to a fixed hardness we log when the machines are descaled. Office calibrations start with that same target, then move a few points if the floor’s kettle or machine runs hotter. The card we leave is the setting the crew can read at 07:00 without a call.

We do not name importers on the site and we do not invent farm stories. The work you can check is the rest day, the dose, the shot clock, and the kilometre on the route sheet.

How the room tries to waste less

A reusable cup knocks $0.50 off any drink. Spent grounds leave on a Delta compost route. Catering for under 20 guests runs without single-use trays; flasks and stoneware come back on the same van. Branded cups are an add-on sold by the 500. A twelve-person tray stays on flasks.

We still use paper cups for the walk-out queue. We still use lids when the drink is leaving the room. The compost bag and the reusable discount are the two numbers we can keep honest without a lecture.

The neighbourhood room

Thirty-four seats inside, twelve on the patio. Dogs stay on the patio with water and a hook. Two four-person tables stay laptop-free from 11:30 to 13:30 so lunch still has a place to land. Wi-Fi is on; power is on the wall seats; the bar does not reserve tables.

The room is step-free from Hamilton Street. The washroom is accessible. Loading for bags and carts uses the Helmcken zone. Parking is street and nearby lots; we do not run a stall of our own.

What the crew protects

Names stay off this site. The crew is the people on the machines, the van, and the cart. The public facts are the hours, the prices, and the 2026 open. If you want a plan, a tray, or a pickup order, the form is enough.

Write to the bar that opened in 2026.

Plans, carts, and wholesale beans use the same enquiry. Pickup orders can go by phone until 16:30.
